Every company we test is a Free Member. One call, one date, one mark, and it costs nothing.
We will call your published emergency line one night in the next three months, at an hour we will not tell you in advance. If a caller with an emergency gets taken care of, you go on the public registry with the date, and you may display the Afterhours Verified mark.
It is free permanently. Not a trial, not a first month. You earned it by answering and it is not for sale.
If nobody answers, we tell you what happened on your line and we tell nobody else. Ever. There is no public list of companies that failed, and there never will be.
Free is one test. At the end of a call that passes, we tell the person who answered that it was us. That is deliberate, because nobody should be tricked. It also means you would recognise the number if we ever used it again, which is why keeping a mark current takes a caller you cannot see coming.
Anyone who calls a listed company and reaches nobody can report it, and that triggers a call from us rather than anything else. One missed call triggers a second call within seven days, because one bad night is not a pattern.
Two in a row and the date comes off the registry. No announcement, no reason published, no list. You can be tested again after thirty days.
We are not trying to catch anybody. The only thing at stake is whether the date is still true.
The mark is free. It is not for sale and never will be. You earned it by answering.
What ages is the date. A mark reading verified in August tells a homeowner very little in January, and she can see the date.
Keeping it current takes a caller you do not recognise. We told you it was us when you passed, so we cannot use that number again without you knowing. Every verification call after the first comes from a number bought for that call and retired afterwards. That is what you are paying for. Not the mark, not a listing, not marketing. An anonymous caller and a current date.
Four unannounced calls a year, at random hours inside the window, plus a call any time somebody reports your line, plus your registry date kept current. Forty nine dollars a year for the first forty Georgia companies, locked for as long as you hold it. One hundred and forty nine after that, or one hundred and forty nine for twelve calls a year.
Nothing is payable before a verdict. A company that is not certified is never invoiced.
We cannot fail you into paying. If you do not answer, we tell you privately and you are simply not listed. If you fix it yourself and never pay us, that is a good outcome and we mean it.
